Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt & black pepper to taste
8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
Optional Topping:
Ketchup or steak sauce
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
Press half of the meat mixture into the prepared pan, forming an even layer.
Arrange the cheese slices evenly over the meat layer.
Top with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges around the cheese.
Spread ketchup or steak sauce evenly over the top, if using.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
