Honey Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
½ cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup cornstarch
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Oil for frying

Honey Sauce:
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
½ teaspoon ginger, minced (optional)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water

Preparation

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Coat chicken pieces in flour, then dip into beaten eggs, and finally coat with cornstarch. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry chicken until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into sauce until thickened. Toss crispy chicken in the sauce until evenly coated. Serve hot.

Serving Tips

Serve over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently.
