Slow Cooker Shrimp With Garlic Butter (3-Ingredient Style)

This easy slow cooker shrimp recipe proves you don’t need a long ingredient list to make something delicious. Just raw shrimp, a few simple kitchen staples, and your slow cooker are all you need. The result is juicy, flavorful shrimp you can serve over pasta, rice, cauliflower rice, or salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw peeled and deveined shrimp

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 – 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 – 1½ teaspoons)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: lemon juice, parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to slow cooker
Place the raw shrimp in the slow cooker. Dot the butter over the top and sprinkle the minced garlic evenly. Season with a bit of salt and black pepper.

  2. Cook on low
Cover and cook on Low for about 1 – 1½ hours. Shrimp cooks quickly in the slow cooker — it should be pink and firm when done. You can also cook on High for about 45 – 60 minutes if needed.

  3. Serve and enjoy
Once cooked, give the shrimp a gentle stir. For extra brightness, squeeze a little lemon juice over the top and garnish with parsley if you like. Serve over pasta, rice, or your favorite grain.

Tips

  • Do not overcook: Shrimp become tough if cooked too long, so check around the shorter end of the time range.

  • Add pasta or rice: If you want a one-pot meal, you can add pre-cooked pasta or rice just before serving.

  • Flavor boosters: A splash of white wine or a pinch of red pepper flakes can elevate this basic version into something extra flavorful.

Serving Suggestions

  • Shrimp over spaghetti or linguine with a bit of extra garlic butter sauce

  • On top of steamed rice with vegetables

  • As a protein topping for a salad

Storage

  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

  • Reheat gently on the stove or microwave until warmed through.
